How Embarrassing

So a few weeks ago, we got an infestation of bugs, little itty bitty flies. They were slightly bigger than fruit flies and I dont' know where they came from or what they are. After many hours of research I think they are gnats. . . oooo gross. . . what did I do to get them? well as far as I can tell, they come inside when it gets cold, and they come through the drains. HOW!?! I am not sure. Anyhow. We still have one or two floating around here. But we now have a spotless kitchen and instead of letting the dishes pile up in the sink a loading them at the end of the day in the dish washer, all dishes go directly into the dishwasher. There is no food sitting on the counters, no cookies, no apples nothing. Everything is sealed and in the fridge or in the cupboards. the Garbage is taken out after dinner even if it isn't full. And the dishes are done immidiately as to make sure there is nothing for the pesky little bugs to snack on.

Gross, and horribly embarrassing. But it wasn't my fault that they came in. . . it was the winter's fault. . . and it did force me to learn to be clean (atleast in the kitchen) which I don't think I would have been effectly taught in any other way. Craig should be pleased with the out come. . . I guess good things come from all trials right!?!

Creepy and Gross

My husband is creepy and gross:
The bishop even thanked him over the pulpit on Sunday for shaving the other half of his head.

I told him next year for halloween he had to be something cute, not creepy and gross. I think we have his costume figured out for next year. . . but I won't tell you what it is. . . . top secret.
Halloween morning my mom had a party with pumpkin pancakes. and completed with witches brew to drink

Look! I got a picture of me! and it is actually kind of cute! That is my cute nephew C.J.

After breakfast the kids played Kendell's favorite game. . . the elephant blowing butterflies game. . . I don't know what it is called, but Kendell will play it over and over for hours if she could find someone to play with her.

then they started getting silly and Kendell decided her butterfly net was a hat.
Cuyler won third place at the institute last night for his costume.

C.J. Loved watching everything going on. . . there was so much going on he would have nothing to do with a nap.

Then we made carmel apples. . . mmmm yum.
Elijah proudly displaying his patterned apple I think it went sprinkles nuts sprinkle nuts, but it could be sprinkles m&ms sprinkles m&ms I can't remember
Kendell's was shockingly covered completely in m&m's I thought I got a picture of her making hers with grandpa, but appearntly I didn't.
Elijah was the most maticulous, the rest of everyone just made them so they could eat them. elijah saved his.

This is mine. I ran out of time to eat it. . . it is still sitting at my mom's hopefully I can get it today so I can share with craig! (craig had to work)

Then it was off to trunker treating at both Craig's work, and at our ward party. Michael won the privledge of dressing up and handing out the candy in our trunk. He did an awesome job.

While Michael handed out candy Grandpa Loertscher took Kendell trunk-0r-treating

Then she came back and sat in the car and ate her treats
A frightening picture of me and my gross boyfriend.
Then Grandma Loertscher took Kendell out to gather more goods. . . Kendell really is very happy. . . She has just recently decided to not smile for the camera any more.
Michael handed out candy for a total of three hours. and screamed things like, "someone help me, they have lost the keys!" "Help my friend, he is hungry" (as he pointed to the skeleton in the back of the car). "Help me I am innocent!"
Craig gave it a try. . . he was just plain to creepy, none of the kids would come ot the car.
Kendell mostly enjoyed her goods. . . she isn't smiling for the camera, I just got a picture while she was smiling because she got a tootsie roll in her hand.

facial hair

SO my lip hurt like it had a cut right on the edge of it. So I went to look at it in the mirror. . . I had a sliver.. . what kind of sliver do you get in your lip!?! i thought. . .

I pulled it out, it was one of Craig's whiskers.

My on going house saga

A few weeks ago, I got money from the state to replace Michael's floors, because of incidents last fall his floor needs to be replaced. So we had previously determined that we would replace the floor under the table and in the kitchen with wood so that we didn't have carpet under the table and so the floors would all be uniform. So when the money came we went to order the floor for Michael's room and the kitchen and eating area's in our house. While there, we determined we should paint our living room before we put the floors down, and since it would take two weeks for the floor to come, we would have plenty of time. So we bought the paint, and ripped apart our house. I also want moldings around the ceiling. If it wasn't for my crazy ideas, the house would be put back together. But because I want moldings, we have to wait for a time when My daddio can come help with the moldings. And since it is the holidays, and because Josh and his family is in town, and because my parents both just got new callings so they are crazy busy it has been hard to find time for my daddio to come help out at the same time that we can be here. So it hasn't happened. So our house is in shambles. Hopefully, we will get enough molding up in the next few days to put our living room back to living functionality. And then we can rip the carpet out of the kitchen area and put the floors in. When it is all finished I will post pictures. I am very excited. When it is all finished a promised Craig I will be finished for a while (how long is a while?)

October Weddings

When Craig first brought up marriage between Christmas and New Years of 2005 I avoided the conversation, when he persisted, I told him I wasn't ready to talk about it. I had two reasons for not being ready to talk about. The first was, I really wasn't ready to say I wanted to marry him, Despite the fact that I knew I loved him and on Thanksgiving I had determined I was going to marry him, I just wasn't ready for him to know that yet. But that probably could have been changed if it wasn't for the second reason: I wanted an October Wedding. For as long as I can remember I dreamed of an October Wedding. I love October, fall is my favorite, and in my opinion October is the prettiest month of the whole year, perfect for a wedding. No matter how hard I tried, it became very clear to me, that my wedding wouldn't be in October and by February 12, Craig and I were engaged to be married on July 1, 2006 in the Salt Lake Temple. My wedding was gorgeous, and despite the lost car and the wandering for two hours to find our car in the sweltering heat, our wedding was perfect. But every October, I think, October is the prettiest time for a Wedding.

Last night I helped my mom do the food for my Brother Josh's Sister-in-law's wedding. This was fun. Josh married my college roommate, Sarah. Sarah was one of my freshman roommates, and she was from Orem, so we went to her house all the time. I got to know her family and loved her family. Now, in my mind, Anna, the Bride of last night, is still only 12. However, If I were to guess she is probably closer to 21 or 22 by now.

The wedding was beautiful, it was gorgeous. I wish I had taken pictures, but it wasn't my wedding, I was simply there to help with the food so I didn't bring a camera, but man, it was just like I imagined a fall wedding to be, positively beautiful.

I love Sarah's family, but because they are sort of only kind of related to me (but not really) and they live in woodland hills I never see them. But I love Sarah's mom and wish that I got to see her more often. Sarah's mom, Ruth, reminds me a lot of my mom, just the sweetest cutest nicest lady anyone would ever meet. So it was fun to be there last night and get to talk to them and see them all. Anna was a beautiful bride.

I also discovered that I love people watching. It was most interesting to me to watch people, and how they acted at weddings, what they took to eat, how many times they came back, if they loaded there plates up or simply took small amounts. some people filled the pockets to over flowing with candy so they would have some to go, and other's simply took a piece or two and put them on their plates. Fascinating. Because of this intrigue I decided that it would be fun to occasionally cater weddings.

I wonder what it would take to really open and small catering business.

Mitch my cutest baby

The last few days it has been cold. . . cold enough to snow. So out came Kendell's winter coat. She loves it. She also loves wearing her winter hat. Yesterday I took Kendell to my mom's house. My mom and my brother, Cuyler, started calling her Mitch because in her giant coat she looks like a pink mitchenlin man.
But no matter what you call her she is just stinking cute. Here she is doing her Papa's hair.

and brushing her teeth.

My little mitch is the cutest mitch in the whole world.
